United Airlines Resumes Flights to Israel in September Amid Growing US-Israel Air Travel Competition

United Airlines is set to resume flights to Israel starting September 8, marking its return after suspending service due to the conflict with Iran in late February. The airline informed its local suppliers that this time the schedule is confirmed, with two daily flights from Ben Gurion Airport operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Ticket prices for the initial flights start at $1,117 one-way, with some classes already sold out.

Delta Airlines is also expected to restart its flights to Israel in September, increasing competition on the US-Israel route. In recent months, Israeli carriers El Al and Arkia have dominated direct flights to the United States. El Al's market share for North American flights surged to 92.3% in the last quarter, up from 75.7% the previous year.

Adding to the competitive landscape, Israeli airline Israir recently received a license from the Civil Aviation Authority to operate flights to the US using a newly acquired aircraft specifically for this route. This development signals a significant expansion in direct air travel options between Israel and the United States.
