United Airlines Resumes Daily Flights to Israel as Multiple Airlines Expand Services

United Airlines is set to resume flights to Israel on September 8, operating two daily flights between Newark and Tel Aviv. The first flight will depart Newark for Ben Gurion Airport on September 8, with the return flight from Tel Aviv to Newark starting on September 9. This move is expected to significantly increase seat availability and competition on the popular US-Israel route.

In addition, the Dutch airline KLM will restart its Tel Aviv-Amsterdam route on August 25, with flights including a technical stopover in Larnaca, Cyprus, where the crew will stay overnight. Tickets for these flights became available for purchase on August 6.

Israir, an Israeli airline, has received preliminary approval from the Civil Aviation Authority to operate flights to the United States. The company plans to submit a formal application to the US Federal Aviation Administration in August to begin flights to New York.

Meanwhile, the Lufthansa Group is also expanding its presence at Ben Gurion Airport, planning up to 67 weekly flights during September to accommodate the upcoming holiday season. This expansion by multiple international and Israeli carriers reflects a broader trend of increasing air traffic to and from Israel as summer ends and the Jewish holidays approach.
