Israeli Navy Conducts Large-Scale Drill to Protect Gas Platforms and Ports Amid Threats

The Israeli Navy recently held a comprehensive multi-branch exercise in the Mediterranean Sea and Red Sea to enhance defense capabilities against various threats. Led by the Missile Boat Flotilla and involving hundreds of personnel and diverse naval vessels, the drill included scenarios of multi-theater combat, air threats, and maritime infiltrations. The exercise also focused on live-fire operations and protection of strategic assets such as gas platforms, Israeli ports, and national infrastructure.

Participants included the Submarine Flotilla, security flotillas 914 and 916, the operational headquarters, and other units. Simulations in the Red Sea were conducted in coordination with the Navy’s operational command to improve command, coordination, and cooperation among naval units. This drill is part of ongoing efforts to incorporate lessons learned from conflicts over the past three years.

The Israeli military emphasized that the Navy continues to adapt its capabilities to evolving maritime challenges, aiming to detect and neutralize threats in real time. This exercise reflects a strategic focus on safeguarding critical maritime infrastructure amid heightened regional tensions.
