Five Million Dollars Distributed to Leaders of Independent Religious Institutions in Jerusalem
A significant event took place on Thursday at the residence of Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem, where the "Keren Hatzalah" foundation distributed $5 million in scholarships to heads of religious institutions that refuse government funding. The chairman of Keren Hatzalah, Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Waldman, presented envelopes containing the substantial sum to Rabbi Sternbuch, who expressed deep emotion and blessings for success and divine assistance. He emphasized the merit of Jews opening their wallets to support such important causes and prayed for blessings and the coming of the Messiah.
During the ceremony, Rabbi Yitzchak Shlomo Bloya, the legendary scribe and judge of the Badatz of the Edah HaChareidis, read out the names of donors, prompting Rabbi Sternbuch to warmly bless them with good fortune, righteous paths, and success in family and Torah study. Rabbi Waldman praised Rabbi Sternbuch's tireless efforts over the years to establish and sustain Keren Hatzalah and the pure educational institutions that operate without state benefits.
The event was attended by prominent rabbis, community leaders, and public figures, including members of the Edah HaChareidis leadership and heads of various holy institutions across Israel. The institution heads left the event uplifted and expressed profound gratitude for the vital support, which they described as essential for the continued existence of their pure educational frameworks.
