Firefighters Battle Multiple Wildfires in West Bank Near Beit Dror and Givat 26

Firefighters are currently combating several wildfires across the West Bank, with a major blaze near the settlement of Beit Dror in southern Mount Hebron still out of control. Approximately 14 firefighting teams are working to contain the fire, which is spreading rapidly due to windy conditions. Another fire near Givat 26, close to Kiryat Arba, was successfully contained before it could reach residential areas.

Additional fires have broken out in Ma'ale Amos, where a portable structure used for soldier housing was completely destroyed, though no injuries were reported. In the Samaria Regional Council area, five firefighting teams are addressing a fire that started along Highway 5 and spread to adjacent open land, causing traffic disruptions.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Tamir Erez of the Judea Regional Fire Station confirmed the successful containment at Givat 26 and noted the deployment of reinforcements from the Southern District to assist near Beit Dror. The Israel Fire and Rescue Services have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire in Ma'ale Amos. Meanwhile, police from the Judea and Samaria District are managing traffic around all affected areas to ensure public safety.
