Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Douglas Aveso Without Release Clause After Louizo Saga

Following the summer saga involving Louizo, who used a 3 million euro release clause to transfer to Red Star Belgrade for a relatively low fee after an impressive season in the Israeli Premier League, Hapoel Tel Aviv has ensured that their new signing, Douglas Aveso, does not have a release clause in his contract. When acquiring Louizo from Omonia Nicosia, Hapoel had also tried to avoid a release clause, but it was a condition insisted upon by the player and his representatives. This time, the club made it clear from the start that the deal with Aveso would be without such a clause, and the player and his agents agreed.

Hapoel Tel Aviv is aware of the doubts surrounding Aveso, especially given how quickly Red Star sold him just months after purchasing him and the fact that he has yet to prove himself at higher competitive levels. However, the club emphasizes patience with his development, stating, "Despite the price and immediate expectations, we are patient with the proper process with Aveso; no one expects him to immediately carry the team on his back."

The responsibility for integrating Aveso into the team falls to coach Eliniv Berda, who last season successfully balanced Louizo and Vizo alongside Satu Toriel, with one playing centrally. Although Aveso has rarely played in the number 10 role that Hapoel Tel Aviv currently lacks, the club’s entire professional staff consulted before signing him, concluding that he can be deployed in multiple positions and has significant potential for professional growth.
