Ramiro Nuñez Joins Maccabi Tel Aviv Volleyball Team for 2026/27 Season

Israeli-Argentine volleyball player Ramiro Nuñez, aged 33 and 1.85 meters tall, has signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2026/27 season. This marks his seventh season playing in Israel. Known for his combative style, strong reception, and defensive skills, Nuñez began his Israeli career in the 2019/20 season with M.S. Eilabun, where he played two seasons with a break spent in San Jose, Argentina. He then played one season with Ironi Kiryat Ata followed by three seasons at Hapoel Mate Asher/Akko. Maccabi Tel Aviv will be his fourth Israeli club.

Nuñez is the first player signed by Maccabi Tel Aviv for the outside hitter position this season. He joins middle blockers Gandi Sokolov and Slava Batskhela, as well as libero Omri Reutman, who will continue with the team. After signing, Nuñez expressed excitement about joining the club, highlighting its strong tradition and his eagerness to contribute to the fans.

Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Gal Galili praised Nuñez as one of the standout Israeli players in recent years and emphasized his expected contribution in reception, defense, and versatile, intelligent attacking play. The club views him as a key part of the squad they are building for the upcoming season.
