Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Veteran Brazilian Volleyball Setter Danilo Galinski
Maccabi Tel Aviv has strengthened its volleyball roster for the 2026/2027 season by signing 36-year-old Brazilian setter Danilo Galinski. Standing 1.93 meters tall, Galinski is the first foreign player to join the team this summer and the club's second acquisition after Israeli-Argentine middle blocker Ramiro Nuñez. They will join key Israeli players Gandi Sokolov, Selva Bachekla, and Omri Reutman, who are expected to lead the squad.
Galinski arrives from Romanian club Rapid Bucharest, bringing extensive experience from top European leagues. He began his career in Brazil, playing seven seasons in the premier league before moving to Benfica Lisbon, where he won the Portuguese Cup and Super Cup. He also competed in Germany's top league, won the French championship with Cannes, and played in Poland.
After signing, Galinski expressed enthusiasm about joining a club with a rich tradition and passionate fans, promising to give his best on the court. Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Gal Galili praised Galinski as a skilled and experienced setter who will be a team leader in the upcoming season.
