Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Veteran Brazilian Volleyball Setter Danilo Galinski
Maccabi Tel Aviv has strengthened its volleyball roster for the 2026/2027 season by signing 36-year-old Brazilian setter Danilo Galinski. Standing 1.93 meters tall, Galinski is the first foreign player to join the team this summer and the club's second acquisition after Israeli-Argentine middle blocker Ramiro Nunez. They will join the core Israeli players Gandi Sokolov, Slava Bachekla, and Omri Reutman, who will continue to lead the squad.
Galinski arrives from Rapid Bucharest in Romania, bringing extensive experience from top European leagues. He began his career in Brazil, playing seven seasons in the premier league before moving to Benfica Lisbon, where he won the Portuguese Cup and Super Cup. He also competed in Germany, France, winning the French championship with Cannes, and Poland.
After signing, Galinski expressed enthusiasm about joining a club with a rich tradition and passionate fans, promising to give his best on the court. Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Gal Galili praised Galinski as a skilled and experienced setter who is expected to be a team leader in the upcoming season.
