Jonathan Shalev from Bennett's Party Files Police Complaint Over Death Threats on Social Media

Jonathan Shalev, a member of the "Together" party led by Naftali Bennett, filed a formal complaint with the Tel Aviv police on August 5, 2026, after receiving death threats on social media. The threatening message warned him to "look carefully right and left when you walk in the street if you want to live" and added, "soon you will see wonders." Following the complaint, police began collecting evidence to identify the suspect behind the threats.

The "Together" party confirmed the incident, emphasizing the seriousness of the threats against Shalev. A police source told N12 that there has been a recent increase in threats against public officials, prompting intensified efforts by cyber units to prevent such crimes and apprehend perpetrators before they can act on their threats. The source added that police work around the clock to protect public representatives and take strict action against those attempting to intimidate them online or otherwise.
