Massive Crowds Overwhelm Xiaomi Store Opening at Rishon Lezion's Golden Mall

Thousands of visitors flocked to the Golden Mall in Rishon Lezion on August 5, 2026, for the grand opening of Xiaomi's new store, operated by the Hamilton Group, Xiaomi's importer in Israel. The launch featured exceptional promotional deals, including about 1,300 products, with some items like headphones, fitness bands, and portable chargers priced as low as 10 shekels. Higher-priced products such as televisions, robotic vacuum cleaners, scooters, and smartphones were offered with discounts up to 55%.

The overwhelming demand led to unusually large crowds and long queues at the store entrance. To manage the situation, entry was controlled with limited numbers of customers allowed inside at a time. At 4:00 PM, the scheduled opening time, one of the event organizers announced a temporary halt to the opening due to the excessive crowd.
