One Dead and Two Injured in Truck-Car Collision Near Tel Arad Junction
A fatal traffic accident occurred on Tuesday evening on Highway 80 near the Tel Arad junction, involving a collision between a truck and a private car. Emergency teams from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene to find a man in his 50s trapped inside the private vehicle, unconscious and without vital signs. Despite rescue efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two additional victims were treated and evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. One is a 35-year-old man in serious condition but conscious, suffering from multiple injuries, and the other is a 45-year-old man in moderate condition with abdominal and limb injuries. The accident caused severe damage to the private car.
Traffic on Highway 80 was completely blocked in both directions while police and traffic accident investigators from the Negev region and Arad station conducted an official investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Drivers in the area have been advised to use alternative routes until the scene is cleared.
