Levavi Garcia Returns to Greek League with Panathinaikos After Difficult Season in Russia

Levavi Garcia, the 28-year-old forward and former Beitar Jerusalem player, is set to return to the Greek league after a challenging season with Spartak Moscow. Garcia had previously impressed during his time at AEK Athens, which led to his transfer to Spartak Moscow for approximately 19 million euros about a year and a half ago. However, after struggling to secure a starting position and playing less than 1,200 minutes last season, he is moving back to Greece on loan to Panathinaikos.

According to Greek media, Spartak Moscow and Panathinaikos have agreed on the loan deal, which includes a fee of 1.25 million euros and an option for Panathinaikos to purchase Garcia for 12 million euros. Garcia has agreed to reduce his salary from 3.5 million euros to 2.5 million euros for the upcoming season, with Panathinaikos covering the full amount. Last season in Russia, Garcia made 33 appearances, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists, but mostly as a substitute.

This move reunites Garcia with the Greek league, where he previously showed strong performances, and pairs him with Panathinaikos teammate Kings Kangwa. The transfer marks a significant step for Garcia as he aims to regain form and playing time after a difficult period in Russia.
