Levavi Garcia Returns to Greek Football with Panathinaikos After Difficult Season in Russia

Levavi Garcia, the 28-year-old forward and former Beitar Jerusalem player, is set to return to the Greek Super League after a challenging season in Russia. After leaving Beitar Jerusalem in the summer of 2020, Garcia impressed at AEK Athens, which led to his transfer to Spartak Moscow for approximately 19 million euros about a year and a half ago. However, his time in Russia was difficult, as he became a substitute early in the season despite scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists in 33 appearances, totaling under 1,200 minutes.

According to Greek media, Spartak Moscow and Panathinaikos have agreed on a loan deal for Garcia, which will cost Panathinaikos 1.25 million euros and includes a purchase option of 12 million euros. Garcia has agreed to reduce his salary from 3.5 million euros to 2.5 million euros for the upcoming season, with Panathinaikos covering the full amount. He will join Panathinaikos alongside former Israeli Premier League star Kings Kangwa.

This move marks a return to Greece for Garcia, where he previously had a successful spell, and offers him a chance to revive his career after a tough period in the Russian Premier League.
