Former Beitar Jerusalem Midfielder Livai Garcia Eyes Return to Greece with Panathinaikos Interest

Livai Garcia, a former Beitar Jerusalem midfielder currently at Spartak Moscow, is reportedly seeking a transfer due to dissatisfaction with his playing time. According to Russian reports, Garcia has asked his agent to find a new club as he wants more minutes on the pitch. Alexander Mostovoi, a former Spartak player, noted that Garcia was bought for a significant fee and could theoretically return on loan to AEK Athens, his previous club.

Greek media outlets have also linked Garcia with a move back to Greece, highlighting that Panathinaikos is seriously considering signing him. SDNA reported that both Panathinaikos and Olympiacos have shown interest, but Panathinaikos appears more likely to pursue the transfer due to their need for wing reinforcements and larger transfer budget.

Garcia, 28, joined Spartak Moscow in February 2025 on a contract until summer 2028 for approximately 18.7 million euros. However, coaching changes and underwhelming performances have limited his impact, with 10 goals and 5 assists in 46 appearances. Internationally, he has 54 caps and 12 goals for Trinidad and Tobago. His current market value is estimated at 7.5 million euros by Transfermarkt.
