Former Beitar Jerusalem Midfielder Livai Garcia Linked to Greek Clubs Including Panathinaikos

Livai Garcia, a former Beitar Jerusalem midfielder currently at Spartak Moscow, is reportedly seeking a transfer due to dissatisfaction with his playing time. According to Russian reports, Garcia has asked his agent to find a new club as he wants more minutes on the pitch. Alexander Mostovoi, a former Spartak player, noted that Garcia was bought for a significant fee and theoretically could return on loan to AEK Athens, his previous club.

Greek media add that Panathinaikos is seriously considering signing Garcia, with Olympiakos also showing interest. Panathinaikos appears more likely to pursue the transfer, needing reinforcements on the wings and having a larger budget for acquisitions. Garcia, 28, joined Spartak Moscow in February 2025 on a contract through summer 2028 but has struggled to secure a consistent role, partly due to coaching changes and underwhelming performances.

Garcia was acquired from AEK Athens for approximately 18.7 million euros. He has made 46 appearances for Spartak, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists. Internationally, he has 54 caps and 12 goals for Trinidad and Tobago. His current market value is estimated at 7.5 million euros by Transfermarkt. The potential move could see Garcia reunite with Kings Kangwa, another player linked to Greek football.
