Two Women Killed in Three-Bus Collision in Ashkelon

The death toll from a severe traffic accident involving three buses on David Remez Street in Ashkelon has risen to two after a woman injured in the crash succumbed to her wounds at the hospital. Earlier at the scene, an approximately 80-year-old woman was pronounced dead. In addition to the fatalities, two other women sustained serious and moderate injuries and were evacuated by Magen David Adom teams to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon for treatment. The driver of one of the buses, a man around 45 years old, was unharmed, as were the other bus passengers. Paramedics reported that the first woman found at the scene was trapped under a bus, unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and despite rescue efforts, her death was confirmed on site. Israeli police and traffic accident investigators have arrived at the scene and launched an inquiry into the circumstances of the deadly collision. MDA paramedics Doron Bar Sheshet and emergency medical technician Ben Dolinger described the incident as a very serious road accident, noting the initial reports of a bus striking pedestrians at a bus stop and the critical condition of the victims upon arrival.
