Firefighters Deploy Planes to Contain Blaze Near Yokneam's Elikim Interchange

A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in an open area near the Elikim parking lot close to Yokneam. Firefighting teams from the Afula station, supported by units from the Coastal District, are actively working to stop the flames from spreading. The firefighters face strong winds that complicate efforts to control the fire fronts and increase the risk of rapid expansion. The teams managed to prevent the fire from reaching several vehicles parked nearby, although some vehicles were damaged by intense heat radiation. In recent minutes, firefighting aircraft were also dispatched to assist ground crews in containing the blaze.
