Hapoel Tel Aviv Receives Memorial Award from Yad LaBanim for Honoring Fallen Soldiers

Hapoel Tel Aviv football club was honored with a memorial award from Yad LaBanim, an organization dedicated to commemorating fallen IDF soldiers and security forces. The award was presented on August 4, 2026, during a team training session by Yad LaBanim chairman Eli Tahar, who praised the club's ongoing efforts to support bereaved families and preserve the memory of the fallen since the outbreak of the Iron Swords war.

Receiving the award on behalf of the club were team manager Salim Tuama, CEO Guy Primor, and technical director Omer Buksanboim, alongside players. Tahar, who personally lost his brother and two sons, emphasized the importance of the club's commemorative activities, including ceremonies and videos, in reminding society that the loved ones lost are not forgotten and that their legacy endures.

During the event, Tahar shared insights about Yad LaBanim's expanded role following the addition of thousands of new bereaved families since the war began. He expressed deep appreciation for Hapoel Tel Aviv's dedication to honoring fallen soldiers and stressed the societal duty to keep their stories and values alive.
