Average Salary in Israel Rises to 15,223 Shekels in June 2026

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) in Israel released preliminary estimates showing that the average salary for employees in Israel reached 15,223 shekels in June 2026. This represents a 7.7% increase compared to June 2025, with an absolute rise of 1,091 shekels over the year. Alongside the salary growth, employment also expanded, with the number of salaried positions reaching 4.216 million in June, marking a 1.1% increase from May 2026 and a 2.0% rise compared to June 2025.

Updated data for May 2026 revealed that the average salary for Israeli employees was 14,263 shekels, a 6.6% increase from the previous year. The high-tech sector showed particularly strong growth, with the average salary in May reaching 35,760 shekels, up 13.7% or 4,301 shekels from May 2025. The number of salaried jobs in the high-tech industry stood at 397,100 in May, a slight increase of 0.2% from April, and these positions accounted for 9.5% of all salaried jobs in the economy.

These figures indicate continued wage growth and employment expansion in Israel's labor market, with the high-tech sector maintaining its status as a high-paying and significant part of the workforce.
