Israel Issues Red Heat Warning for Jordan Valley Amid Extreme Temperatures

The Israeli Meteorological Service has issued an exceptional red warning for extreme heat in the Jordan Valley, along with orange warnings for the Dead Sea, Arava, and various valleys. Following morning cloud dispersal, temperatures are expected to drop slightly today, Tuesday, becoming more seasonally typical, especially in the mountains and inland areas, though it will remain hotter than usual. Coastal plains will experience milder conditions. Despite some relief, heavy to extreme heat burdens will persist across most regions.

Tonight will be partly cloudy to clear. The red heat warning covers areas including Beit She'an Valley, Kinneret Valley, Jordan Valley, northern and southern Judean Desert, Dead Sea, and Arava. Yellow warnings apply to eastern Upper Galilee, western Lower Galilee, Jezreel Valley, Carmel, northern and central coastal plains, Shfela, central highlands, Samaria, northern Samaria, parts of the Judean Desert, northwest Negev, and western Negev.

On Wednesday, the weather will remain partly cloudy to clear with a further slight temperature decrease, mainly in the mountains and inland, though temperatures will still be somewhat above seasonal norms. Coastal plains will continue to be mild. Heat burdens will remain heavy to extreme in most areas. By Thursday, after morning clouds clear, temperatures will drop further to seasonal averages, easing the heat stress.

Forecasted temperatures for Tuesday include Jerusalem at 21-33°C, Tel Aviv 26-31°C, Beersheba 22-36°C, Haifa 26-31°C, Tiberias 25-38°C, Safed 21-30°C, and Eilat 28-40°C. The public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel and outdoor activities during peak heat periods due to the extreme conditions.
