Mohammad Abu Fani Joins Red Star Belgrade in €1.5 Million Move
Mohammad Abu Fani has officially signed with Red Star Belgrade, the Serbian champions announced. Red Star paid about €1.5 million to Ferencvaros for the midfielder, and Abu Fani is expected to earn around €750,000 per season, a clear increase from his current salary in Hungary, estimated at about €550,000.
Red Star won the Serbian league title and will begin its next Champions League campaign in the second qualifying round. Abu Fani will also team up with Cypriot midfielder Loizos Loizou, who left Hapoel Tel Aviv for the Serbian club.
Abu Fani joined Ferencvaros from Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2023, after developing in Haifa's youth academy. Over three seasons in Hungary, he recorded 14 goals and 36 assists and became one of the team's key players.
Ferencvaros finished second in the Hungarian league last season after seven straight championships, but did win the domestic cup.
