IDF Uses Drones and Loudspeakers to Force Hezbollah Fighters from Tunnels in Southern Lebanon

Following the destruction of Hezbollah's strategic tunnels in the Bofor Ridge, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified efforts to extract dozens of Hezbollah militants trapped in tunnels at the Ali Taher Ridge. These militants are encircled by the IDF's 36th Division, which is employing unconventional tactics including drones equipped with powerful loudspeakers broadcasting continuously to exhaust the fighters and compel their surrender or force them to fight outside the tunnels.

Despite these efforts, most militants remain inside the tunnels. The IDF's attempt over the past weekend involved commando units and armored brigade soldiers securing tunnel areas with surveillance and observation tools. During this operation, two militants were killed in a clash with the elite Egoz reconnaissance unit, which also suffered a moderately wounded officer.

The Bofor Ridge complex, located about six kilometers from Metula, was reportedly a multi-level Hezbollah command center built over two decades. It served as the headquarters for the Badr unit, responsible for Hezbollah's operations against Israel's Galilee region. Israeli engineering forces spent weeks systematically clearing the site before demolishing it. The operation has drawn attention in Lebanon, highlighting the ongoing conflict in southern Lebanon and northern Israel.
