Report: Shi Konstantin Set for a Move to Rehovot
Left back Shi Konstantin, who played this season for Hapoel Kfar Shalem after a spell at Beitar Jerusalem, is expected to remain in Israel’s second division. According to Sport Channel, he has reached an agreement with Maccabi Ironi Rehovot, one of the teams expected to challenge for promotion next season.
Konstantin is regarded as a high-profile player in the Liga Leumit and would join an increasingly strengthened squad that already added Shahar Amsalem, Uri Tzadon and Ronen Peretz. This season he scored three goals in 20 league appearances.
The report also says the coming days will center on another target, center back Ben Weheba, one of the league’s top defenders. Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam and Rehovot are battling for his signature, and he must decide between them.
Rehovot has reportedly made Weheba a particularly attractive offer. The club is also trying to recover after defender Ran Etori had initially agreed in principle but ultimately signed with Ashdod, as previously reported by Sport Channel.
