Father of Nova massacre victim calls for state inquiry into the October 7 failures

Eran Litman, the father of Oriya Litman, who was murdered in the October 7 attack while on her way home from the Nova music festival, spoke at an anti-government rally at Habima Square. He used the platform to demand a state commission of inquiry into the failures surrounding the war and the attack.

Litman said, "I do not need a state commission of inquiry, really I do not. But it is owed to Oriya, to all 1,321 murdered and fallen from that terrible day, to the 253 hostages, dozens of whom did not return alive, and to the hundreds of dead and fallen from the endless war. It is owed to everyone." He argued that such a commission should have been established a month after the attack.

According to Litman, an early inquiry might have led to the implementation of conclusions about how the war was being managed, and could have changed how the fighting in Lebanon and Iran was handled, or prevented those operations from being conducted properly at all.
