Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Center Armando Bacot to Complete Frontcourt Roster

Maccabi Tel Aviv has finalized the signing of 26-year-old center Armando Bacot, standing 2.08 meters tall, to join their roster as the second foreign center behind Daniel Theis. This move completes the team's frontcourt lineup for the 2026/27 season. Bacot, who previously played for Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague, is seen by the coaching staff as a player with significant potential to improve and become an important contributor under head coach Oded Katash.

The club had been considering Bacot for some time and accelerated negotiations after other options failed to materialize. With Bacot's addition, Katash is close to finalizing the full squad, with the only remaining uncertainty surrounding Lonnie Walker's status, who appears likely to leave. Should Walker depart, Maccabi will seek a replacement in the backcourt to complete their roster.

In his last season with Fenerbahce, Bacot averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10 minutes per game over 26 EuroLeague matches, and 6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 17.5 minutes in the Turkish league, shooting nearly 50% from the field. Bacot also has a strong collegiate background, having played five seasons with the North Carolina Tar Heels and posting impressive stats in the NBA G League with Memphis' development team, averaging 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
