Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs Center Armando Bacot to Complete Frontcourt Roster

Maccabi Tel Aviv has finalized the signing of 26-year-old center Armando Bacot, standing 2.08 meters tall, to join their roster as the second foreign center behind Daniel Theis. This move completes the team's frontcourt lineup ahead of the 2026/27 season. Bacot, who previously played for Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague, is seen by the club's coaching staff as a player with significant potential to improve and contribute meaningfully under head coach Oded Katash.

The club had been considering Bacot for some time, initially exploring other options that did not materialize, which accelerated negotiations with him. With Bacot's addition, Katash is close to finalizing the entire squad, with the only remaining uncertainty being the status of guard Lonnie Walker, who appears likely to depart. Should Walker leave, Maccabi Tel Aviv will seek a replacement in the backcourt to complete the roster puzzle.

In the previous season with Fenerbahce, Bacot averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10 minutes per game over 26 EuroLeague matches, and contributed 6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 17.5 minutes per game in the Turkish league, shooting 49.4% from the field. Bacot also played five seasons at the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and posted strong stats in the G League with Memphis, averaging 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game with solid shooting percentages.
