Maccabi Tel Aviv Signs American Center Armando Bacot Jr. for Two Years

Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club announced the signing of American center Armando Bacot Jr. to a two-year contract, reportedly worth about one million dollars per season. Bacot, 26 years old and standing 2.08 meters tall, joins the Israeli champions after playing last season with Fenerbahçe in Turkey, where he won the league, cup, and super cup titles. At Fenerbahçe, Bacot averaged 6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game in the Turkish league, and contributed 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in about 10 minutes per game in the EuroLeague under coach Šarūnas Jasikevičius.

Bacot will strengthen the frontcourt of Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Oded Katash alongside Daniel Theis and Roman Sorkin. The club described Bacot as a versatile center with good off-ball movement, pick-and-roll skills, and effective presence in the paint. Born on March 6, 2000, in Richmond, Virginia, Bacot played college basketball at North Carolina, a prominent NCAA program. He also played 50 games in the Memphis development league, averaging 16.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Bacot’s signing follows recent moves by Maccabi Tel Aviv to bolster their roster ahead of the new season.
