Senior United Torah Judaism Figure Proposes Conflict with Netanyahu to Boost Support

Political commentator Amit Segal revealed that a senior figure in United Torah Judaism (UTJ) recently approached a top Likud official with an unusual proposal: to engage in a public dispute with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Segal explained that many in the Haredi street feel let down by their lawmakers, especially due to recent government measures affecting property taxes, daycare, and housing.

Segal noted that this discontent is reflected in multiple polls showing a decline in support for Haredi parties ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections. The proposed conflict, according to the UTJ figure, could benefit both sides politically by addressing voter frustrations and reinvigorating their base. While Segal did not disclose Likud's response to the proposal, he observed that Netanyahu has recently shifted his stance, indicating that there will be no second freeze on arrests, signaling a possible change in policy direction.
