Senior United Torah Judaism Figure Rejects Netanyahu-Led Government Over Draft Law Stalemate

A senior member of United Torah Judaism criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his failure to pass the military draft exemption law for Haredi yeshiva students, a key issue for the ultra-Orthodox community. Speaking to ynet, the official said Netanyahu had not fulfilled his four-year commitment to enact the draft law, which is considered a vital concern for the Haredi public. Instead, Netanyahu prioritized divisive judicial reforms, fracturing public unity rather than advancing the draft legislation. The official stated that Netanyahu now realizes that United Torah Judaism cannot join a government that returns to the current impasse. They prefer to remain in opposition and allow others to pass the draft law that Netanyahu has been unable to enact.
