Yehadut HaTorah Chair Goldknopf Says They Left Government Over Netanyahu's Refusal to Pass Draft Law

Yehadut HaTorah chairman, Rabbi Yitzhak Goldknopf, criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following a report by Amit Segal that Netanyahu admitted the "arrest law" had failed. Goldknopf stated that Segal's report confirmed what had been clear from the start: Netanyahu never intended to regulate the status of yeshiva students or bring a draft law, which was the reason Yehadut HaTorah left the government. He described the "arrest law" as a spin that was never meant to solve anything and regretted its introduction. Looking ahead to the next government formation, Goldknopf declared that after the elections, Yehadut HaTorah would only join a coalition that regulates the status of yeshiva students and yeshiva scholars.
