Moscow Yeshiva Holds Uplifting Ceremony Marking End of Academic Year

In the pastoral setting of the Istra neighborhood near Moscow, the central Russian yeshiva for young students, Tomchei Temimim, held a moving ceremony to mark the conclusion of the 5786 academic year. The event celebrated the students' hard work and dedication, while also looking forward to their transition to the higher yeshiva. The ceremony began with teachings from the Lubavitcher Rebbe emphasizing that Torah study is an ongoing process without an end, encouraging continual growth.

Rabbi Hanan Teichtal opened the event by welcoming parents who had traveled from near and far. Rabbi Moshe Lerman, the yeshiva head, spoke emotionally about witnessing the students' spiritual progress. The highlight was a special video blessing from Rabbi Berel Lazar, the founder of the yeshiva and Chief Rabbi of Russia, who likened the completion of the school year to the joy of Simchat Torah, where finishing the Torah immediately leads to a new beginning. He urged the students to study with joy, dedication, and a fresh sense of discovery each day.

The ceremony was organized by campus director Rabbi Yosef Moshe Weisberg and yeshiva director Rabbi Chaim Moshe Weber. Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook, representing the parents from Chabad institutions in St. Petersburg, expressed gratitude for the educators' tireless efforts and presented gifts to the teachers. Certificates of completion and beautifully inscribed Chitas books were distributed to all third-grade students, along with recognition for student leaders who supported their peers throughout the year.

Rabbi Lazar’s full blessing emphasized the importance of approaching each new stage of learning with renewed enthusiasm and vitality, especially during the summer months, which the Rebbe highlighted as a time for increased Torah study. He concluded by thanking the entire yeshiva staff for their dedication and encouraged the students to continue their studies with joy and success in the coming year.
