Chico Miko Bakery Seeks New Operator in Tel Aviv as Noa Bistro Closes in Judean Hills

The wave of closures in Israel's culinary scene continues with two notable establishments announcing significant changes. The Tel Aviv branch of the popular "Chico Miko Croissant" bakery, located on Bogroshov Street and known for its viral social media presence and extravagant croissant creations, is now up for lease. Although a "for rent" sign has been placed at the property, the chain's owners clarified to N12 that the branch is not closing permanently but has been sold to a new franchisee who will manage it going forward. The original owners cited the difficulty of managing the location remotely and the need for someone to be physically present.

Meanwhile, "Noa, Local Baking," a restaurant in Kiryat Anavim in the Judean Hills, announced its permanent closure after three years of operation. The decision followed the departure of its founding chef-pastry chef Eldad Shmueli earlier this year. The owners shared a farewell post on social media expressing gratitude to their loyal community and explaining that the closure was a difficult but considered decision due to accumulating challenges. Noa's shutdown adds to a growing list of eateries recently ceasing operations in the region.

These developments highlight ongoing difficulties in the Israeli food industry, affecting both trendy urban bakeries and more remote local restaurants. Chico Miko remains a significant brand with other branches in Netanya and Or Akiva, while Noa's closure marks the end of a notable culinary chapter in the Judean Hills.
