Maccabi Tel Aviv Pursues Armonee Brooks Amid Competition and Security Concerns

Maccabi Tel Aviv is actively seeking to sign guard Armonee Brooks, likely replacing Loni Walker, while also negotiating with Armando Bacot and Daniel Theis. Brooks, 28 years old and 1.94 meters tall, signed with Villeurbanne this summer but is expected to move due to the club's financial difficulties. Several EuroLeague teams, including Maccabi, Real Madrid, and previously Partizan Belgrade, have shown interest in Brooks. Partizan Belgrade has withdrawn from negotiations, but Real Madrid remains a contender.

Maccabi has already spoken with Brooks, and the main obstacle is not financial but related to his concerns about relocating to Israel with his family, which has caused some pessimism within the club. Despite these concerns, Maccabi officials say efforts to convince Brooks continue. Brooks was the MVP of the Italian league last season and posted strong EuroLeague stats with Milan, averaging 13.1 points and shooting 41.6% from three-point range over 38 games, establishing himself as a top scorer in the competition.
