Armoni Brooks Joins Valencia Basket on Loan from Villeurbanne, Ending Maccabi Tel Aviv Hopes
Armoni Brooks will not be joining Maccabi Tel Aviv as hopes for his signing ended on Monday with confirmation from Spain that the 28-year-old guard has agreed to terms with Valencia Basket. Brooks will move to the Spanish champions on loan from French club Villeurbanne. Despite discussions with several EuroLeague teams and contact from Maccabi Tel Aviv representatives, Brooks ultimately chose Valencia.
Brooks joined Villeurbanne this past summer as part of an ambitious project involving Sylvain Francisco and Nick Weiler-Babb. However, the French club had to change plans after failing to secure a significant investment deal in time.
Brooks arrived in Europe in the summer of 2024 after four seasons alternating between the NBA and its development league. He played 84 NBA games with an average of 6.6 points per game and spent the last two seasons with Milan. Last season in the EuroLeague, he averaged 13.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
