Maccabi Tel Aviv Separates Henry Adu, Seeks New Club for Winger

Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently training Ghanaian winger Henry Adu separately from the main squad as they look for a new club for him. Adu, 23, signed with Maccabi two and a half years ago for around half a million euros but has not met the club's expectations. Although he remains under contract for the upcoming season, he is not part of the team's plans.

Last season, Adu was included in the squad for a Champions League qualifier against Pafos but was subsequently loaned to Serbian club OFK Belgrade, where he made 16 appearances and scored two goals. Adu originally joined Maccabi from Žilina as a promising young talent but struggled to establish himself. In his first full season (2024/25) with Maccabi, he played 28 games and scored three goals, including two in the Europa League qualifiers against Bačka Topola.

Maccabi currently has eight foreign players on its roster, which prevents them from registering Adu unless another foreign player is released. The club's priority remains finding a new team for Adu to continue his career elsewhere.
