Maccabi Tel Aviv Pursues Young Troyes Winger Elijah Adebayo
Maccabi Tel Aviv, fresh off a Wednesday victory over Maccabi Haifa, is actively seeking to strengthen its squad. Following the signing of Gabi Kaniovsky and nearing the announcement of James Tavernier, the Israeli club has reportedly identified another target for its wings: Elijah Adebayo, a 19-year-old winger from French club Troyes.
According to Nigerian reports, Maccabi Tel Aviv is leading the chase for Adebayo, with discussions focused on a loan deal that would include a purchase option. "Talks between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Troyes are deep in progress," the report states, adding that the Israeli club faces competition from Turkish side Erzurumspor, which has also shown serious interest.
Adebayo joined Troyes in the summer of 2025 from Sheriff Tiraspol for €3 million. Last season, he made 14 appearances for Sheriff, scoring seven goals. For Troyes, he played 13 matches, scoring one goal and assisting another, though he played less towards the end of the season as the team was promoted to the first division. He has not yet been registered for Troyes' squad this season.
