Satmar Yeshiva Students Celebrate Completion of Talmud Study in Hungary with Surprise Visit from Toldos Aharon Rebbe

Last weekend in the Hungarian town of Keresztúr, over 150 students from the newly established Satmar Kiryas Yeshiva concluded their European strengthening journey with special study sessions and a festive Siyum HaShas ceremony. The yeshiva, founded earlier this year in Monsey by the Satmar Rebbe (the Maharai), caters to older students who graduated from the world's largest Hasidic yeshiva in Queens and wish to continue intensive Torah study in an age-appropriate setting.

The trip was led by Rabbi Yaakov Ber Teitelbaum, head of the yeshiva and son of the Satmar Rebbe, who accompanied the students throughout. The highlight was their stop in Keresztúr, where they held temporary study sessions in the restored synagogue of Rabbi Yeshayala of Keresztúr, a project nearing completion under the guidance of the tzaddik’s grandchildren from the Rubin family. The Siyum HaShas event took place in the Abraham Samuel Samet Hall, built through the generosity of Rabbi Yechezkel David Barkowitz, a Satmar Hasidic patron, symbolizing unity among the Satmar courts.

On the night before the Siyum, the Toldos Aharon Rebbe visited the 'Rabbi Yeshayala’s House' complex, spending several minutes examining the wall displaying the tractates, learning about the new yeshiva initiative, and expressing admiration for the scope and concept of the study program. The following day, he surprised attendees by joining the Siyum celebration, engaging in joyful dancing with the Satmar Rebbe’s son to the music of a large orchestra in front of hundreds of participants.
