EuroLeague Transfer Market Heats Up Around Shorts, Brown and Washington
The EuroLeague transfer market is buzzing while many domestic seasons are still unfinished, with several major clubs lining up moves for the summer. One of the biggest names in circulation is T.J. Shorts, who remains under contract with Panathinaikos but is not expected to stay because of his role on the team.
According to a Sportando report, Valencia is the frontrunner to sign the point guard. The Spanish club sees him as the ideal replacement for Jean Montero, who is expected to leave for Olympiacos.
Another player drawing interest is Sterling Brown, who is also still under contract, this time with Partizan Belgrade. Be_Basket reported that many EuroLeague clubs are pursuing him, and that Zalgiris Kaunas has shown the strongest interest so far.
Zalgiris is also close to landing guard Carsen Edwards and nearing an agreement with Maxwell Lewis, a small forward who played for Lithuanian side Juventus this season and averaged 11.9 points per game. By contrast, Dwayne Washington, the American-German guard, is definitely leaving and will join Bayern Munich as a local player after a strong EuroLeague season in which he averaged 14.9 points.
