EuroLeague Transfer Market Heats Up Around Shorts, Brown and Washington
The EuroLeague transfer market is heating up while many domestic leagues are still finishing their seasons, with several clubs already mapping out summer moves. One of the biggest names in circulation is TJ Shorts, who is under contract with Panathinaikos but is not expected to stay because of his role on the team.
According to Sportando, Valencia is currently the favorite to sign the point guard and views him as the ideal replacement for Jean Montero, who is set to join Olympiacos. At the same time, Sterling Brown is also still under contract, but reports say he could leave Partizan Belgrade this summer. Be_Basket said, “Many EuroLeague clubs are after him,” and added that Zalgiris Kaunas has shown the strongest interest so far.
Zalgiris is also close to signing guard Carsen Edwards and is nearing an agreement with Maxwell Lewis, the small forward who played this season for Lithuanian side Juventus and averaged 11.9 points per game. Brown may depart Partizan, but Dwayne Washington will definitely leave, with the American-German guard set to join Bayern Munich as a domestic player after an excellent EuroLeague season in which he averaged 14.9 points per game.
