Zambian Midfielder Kings Kangwa Joins Greek Club Panathinaikos on Four-Year Deal

Kings Kangwa, the Zambian midfielder, has officially transferred from Hapoel Be'er Sheva to the Greek football club Panathinaikos. After two successful seasons with Hapoel Be'er Sheva, where he played a key role in winning the Israeli State Cup and the league championship, Kangwa signed a four-year contract with Panathinaikos through his agent Nir Koren. The contract is reportedly worth around 800,000 euros per season.

Panathinaikos secured Kangwa for a transfer fee of four million euros, which Hapoel Be'er Sheva accepted. Additionally, the Israeli club will receive bonuses if Kangwa helps Panathinaikos win the Greek league or advance to the group stage of a European competition. Panathinaikos recently advanced to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League after a 4-3 victory over Hungarian club Paks.

During his tenure at Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Kangwa made 84 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 20 assists. He arrived from Red Star Belgrade and was considered one of the most important players for the Israeli club in recent years. At Panathinaikos, Kangwa will join notable teammates including Stefan de Vrij, Davide Calabria, and Facundo Pellistri, playing at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium in Athens.
