Zambian Midfielder Kings Kangwa Joins Greek Club Panathinaikos on Four-Year Deal

Kings Kangwa, the Zambian midfielder, has officially transferred from Hapoel Be'er Sheva to Greek football club Panathinaikos. The announcement came on July 31, 2026, after Kangwa completed his final appearance for the Israeli club. He signed a four-year contract with Panathinaikos through his agent Nir Koren, earning approximately 800,000 euros per season. The transfer fee paid to Hapoel Be'er Sheva was around four million euros, with additional bonuses tied to winning the Greek championship and advancing to the group stage of European competitions.

Kangwa was a key player for Hapoel Be'er Sheva over the past two seasons, having arrived from Red Star Belgrade. During his tenure, he helped the team secure the State Cup in his first season and the Israeli Premier League title in his second, the club's first championship in eight years. He made 84 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 20 assists.

At Panathinaikos, Kangwa will join several notable players, including former Milan captain Davide Calabria, Stefan de Vrij, and Facundo Pellistri. Recently, Panathinaikos defeated Hungarian side Paks 4-3 to advance to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, marking a positive start for the club ahead of the new season.
