Tel Aviv Court Extends Detention of Suspect in Breaking News 12 Office Door

A Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended the detention of a man suspected of damaging the entrance door to the News 12 offices by four days, until August 3. The suspect, a resident of Ramat Gan in his 40s, was arrested by detectives from the Central Unit of the Tel Aviv District Police following the incident on July 28. Police discovered the broken glass door during a routine morning patrol at the News 12 building on HaHaskala Boulevard in Tel Aviv. Near the entrance, they found a threatening letter directed at public figures and media personnel. Investigations indicate the suspect threw stones at the entrance doors causing the damage, then fled the scene but left behind the threatening note. This is the second such attack on the News 12 entrance within a month; the previous incident occurred on July 5. No suspect had been apprehended for the earlier attack, and it remains unclear if the two events are connected.
