Maccabi Tel Aviv Considers Bringing Back Haciel Rivero to Strengthen Frontcourt

Maccabi Tel Aviv is exploring the possibility of re-signing Haciel Rivero, the Cuban forward/center who previously played two seasons with the club. Rivero, who left Maccabi last summer due to family reasons, had impressed under coach Oded Katash despite initial skepticism. He averaged 7.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in his first season and improved to 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in his second season with the team.

Last season, Rivero played for Crvena Zvezda Belgrade but was limited to just nine EuroLeague games due to injuries. Maccabi is focusing on strengthening its front line ahead of the upcoming season and sees Rivero as a potential key addition. Rivero expressed pride in his previous tenure with Maccabi, stating that wearing the club's colors was always an honor.

The club continues to build its roster for the next season, with Rivero's possible return representing a strategic move to bolster their competitiveness in both the EuroLeague and the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
