Maccabi Tel Aviv Considers Re-Signing Haciel Rivero to Strengthen Frontcourt

Maccabi Tel Aviv is exploring the possibility of bringing back Haciel Rivero as part of its roster building for the upcoming season. Rivero, a Cuban forward/center, previously played two seasons with Maccabi, impressing under coach Oded Katash despite initial skepticism. He left the team last summer due to family reasons but expressed deep respect for the club, stating that wearing its colors was an honor.

After limited playing time last season with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade due to injuries, where he appeared in only nine EuroLeague games, Rivero is now a free agent. During his first season with Maccabi, he averaged 7.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, improving significantly in his second season to 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds. Maccabi is focusing on strengthening its frontcourt and sees Rivero as a potential key addition.

The club's interest in Rivero reflects its ongoing efforts to build a competitive squad for the next season, aiming to bolster its performance in both the EuroLeague and the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
