Hapoel Be'er Sheva Secures Immediate €3.05 Million Payment After European Qualification

Hapoel Be'er Sheva guaranteed a spot in a European league on August 27 after defeating Vikingur 2-0, ensuring at least a place in the UEFA Conference League group stage and a minimum payout of €3.17 million. According to UEFA regulations, the club will receive an immediate lump sum advance of €3.05 million, with an additional €120,000 to follow later. This payment typically occurs between the end of the European qualifying rounds and the start of the group stages.

If Be'er Sheva advances to the Europa League, they stand to earn a total of €4.31 million, including a €4.14 million advance, similar to the amount Maccabi Tel Aviv received last year. Qualification for the Champions League would yield a record €17.87 million for the Israeli club, plus €750,000 in subsequent payments. These sums cover only qualification bonuses; additional rewards are granted for match results, with €400,000 per win and €133,000 per draw in the Conference League, €450,000 and €150,000 respectively in the Europa League, and €2.1 million and €700,000 in the Champions League.

Be'er Sheva also benefits from a coefficient-based bonus reflecting their European ranking and that of participating teams. Even in a scenario where they lose to Red Star Belgrade and drop to the Conference League, the club could earn approximately €4.47 million before any further sporting achievements. The final qualifying round concludes on August 27, with the player registration deadline for European competitions usually in early September and the Israeli Premier League transfer window closing on September 16.

The club aims to strengthen its squad by signing two foreign players, including a defender and a potential replacement or more attacking player for Kings Kangwa, who is transferring to Panathinaikos. Kangwa's sale for €4 million plus bonuses presents a significant financial opportunity. Coach Ran Kozuch acknowledged the need for improvements and expressed the club's ambition to advance further, stating, "There is pressure to take the club to the next level, and we have been working on this for the past two years."
