Gunfire Erupts at Ashdod Event Hall During Wedding, Police Investigate

Police in Ashdod launched an investigation early Wednesday following reports of gunfire at the Troy Event Hall. Although no casualties were initially reported, police and forensic teams arrived at the scene to collect evidence and search for suspects. Authorities confirmed the incident is criminal in nature and are probing the circumstances.

This is not the first shooting linked to the Troy Event Hall. About two years ago, four people were injured in a shooting there, including a police officer seriously wounded. That incident was tied to a violent conflict among criminal organizations in Ashdod, involving the gang led by crime boss Eyal Nagar and the Georgian mafia. The local police unit had prior intelligence about a planned hit and responded swiftly.

Additionally, about a month ago, police in Tayibe responded to gunfire during a wedding, which endangered attendees and the public. Officers intervened to stop the event, conducted searches, and arrested two suspects after they damaged a police vehicle. The arrests followed rapid investigative work and the suspects were brought before a court to extend their detention.

The recent Ashdod shooting is under active investigation as police work to identify and apprehend those responsible.
