Israeli Police Arrest Bnei Brak Man Over Serious Child Abuse Allegations

Israeli police arrested a man in his 40s from Bnei Brak on suspicion of committing serious offenses against two minors in the city. The investigation began following two separate complaints filed in June, prompting a covert and extensive inquiry by the local police unit specializing in serious crimes. After gathering testimonies and evidence, the suspect was detained two days ago and brought in for urgent questioning.

Due to the severity of the allegations and concerns over public safety, the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended the suspect's detention until August 2, 2026, to allow investigators to complete their work. This case is part of a troubling pattern of similar incidents recently uncovered within the ultra-Orthodox community. In recent months, other arrests have been made, including a 62-year-old Jerusalem resident accused of planned offenses against minors and a 35-year-old Bnei Brak resident suspected of abusing a six-year-old child. The Israeli police emphasized their zero-tolerance policy toward crimes against children and called on the public to assist in reporting any suspicious activity to ensure the protection of vulnerable populations.
