Fire in Safed's Nof Kinneret Neighborhood Injures Four from Smoke Inhalation

A fire broke out in the Nof Kinneret neighborhood of Safed, resulting in four people suffering from smoke inhalation. The incident occurred recently and involved a large blaze fueled by dry grass and debris on a steep slope, complicating firefighting efforts. Firefighters from the Galil-Golan station, supported by firefighting planes from the Elad squadron, responded to the scene.

Among the injured was a 23-year-old woman in moderate condition who received oxygen and medical assistance. Three others were treated for mild smoke inhalation. The fire is currently contained, with crews continuing to extinguish remaining hotspots and secure the area.

Eliyahu Shiloach, head of the United Hatzalah Galil branch, along with paramedics Yehuda and Shimon Haim Dahan, provided medical aid at the scene. Incident commander Chief Fire Officer Roy Finish described the situation as complex, emphasizing the risk of rapid fire spread toward residential homes. Through determined and coordinated efforts, firefighters prevented further damage to houses and nearby vehicles.

Fire investigators from the Israel Fire and Rescue Services will examine the cause of the fire.
