Israeli Police Seize Over 1.4 Million Shekels in Cash During Threats Investigation

Israeli police from the Northern District, with assistance from the Coastal District and Border Police fighters, raided the homes of two suspects involved in threats. During the search of a 69-year-old resident's home in Emek HaMaayanot, authorities discovered more than 1.4 million shekels in cash hidden in a wardrobe, along with high-value checks and other evidence. The suspects, including a 29-year-old from Wadi Ara, were taken for questioning and later released under restrictive conditions.

The investigation began after a complaint from an individual who claimed to have received death threats. Due to the significant financial findings, the Economic Enforcement Unit of Lahav 433 joined the probe, which remains ongoing. The Northern District Police emphasized their continued efforts to combat crime through economic enforcement, intelligence and operational activities, preventing smuggling and illegal arms trade, and rapid responses to violent incidents to ensure public safety.
